HOLY COW! IT’S TIME FOR ANOTHER EDITION OF N-C-S-D NEWS…THE ONLY SHOW THAT KEEPS YOU MOOOO-VING AROUND THE NORTH CLACKAMAS SCHOOL DISTRICT AND UP TO DATE ABOUT ALL THE UDDER-LY GREAT THINGS HAPPENING THROUGHOUT OUR SCHOOLS. ALONG WITH THE “MOO-DINI” OF VIDEOGRAPHERS BRIAN MCGREW, I AM THE UNDER-CALF-INATED CURTIS LONG.
AND TODAY, YOU MIGHT SAY WE’RE STARTING THE SHOW ON A “STEAK-OUT’ HERE AT THE NORTH CLACKAMAS LAND LAB BEHIND CLACKAMAS HIGH SCHOOL…WHERE STUDENTS FROM ALL OF OUR HIGH SCHOOLS LEARN ABOUT AGRICULTURE, PLANTS AND CROPS, SOIL SCIENCE, MANAGING A FARM, AND, OF COURSE…LIVESTOCK.
AND THEY LEARN LOTS OF IT FROM LONGTIME TEACHER KATHY MAYFIELD, WHO STUDENTS AND COLLEAGUES ALREADY KNOW IS LEGEND-“DAIRY”…BUT NOW, SO DOES THE REST OF THE NATION…LAST MONTH, MS. MAYFIELD TRAVELED TO LAS VEGAS TO RECEIVE THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF AGRICULTURAL EDUCATORS OUTSTANDING TEACHER AWARD FOR 2022…ONE OF ONLY TWO TEACHERS WEST OF THE MISSISSIPPI TO EARN THAT RECOGNITION.
HERE AT N-C-S-D MOOS (ER…NEWS) WE WERE LUCKY ENOUGH TO TAG ALONG WITH THE TEACHER WHO SERVES AS THE LAND LAB’S C-I-E-I-O DURING A RECENT MORNING…
